Experience Authenticity: Living in a Tuscan Village

When I talk about a week of “living in a Tuscan village” instead of just touring Italy, people usually have one of two reactions:
Either:
“That sounds like heaven.”
Or:
“I’d get bored… what would I do all day?”
Both reactions are insightful. This week is very much not for everyone.
Who This Week is Not For
This is not the right fit if you:
Want to see as many places as possible in one trip.
Love packed itineraries and checking off a long list of sights.
Prefer big hotels, lots of amenities, and a busy social scene.
Need constant entertainment and variety to feel satisfied.
Get restless staying in one place for more than a couple of days.
There’s nothing wrong with wanting those things. They’re just not what this week is about.
If you want to rush from Rome to Florence to Venice to the Amalfi Coast in 10 days, this is not your trip. There are plenty of tours that do that really well.
Who This Week IS For
This week is for a different kind of traveler.
It’s for you if you:
Are craving a slower pace and some genuine breathing room.
Want to feel what everyday Italian life is like in one small place.
Prefer deeper conversations over small talk and “meeting everyone.”
Love the idea of becoming a regular at the same bar or café for a week.
Are okay with gentle walking and simple outings, not constant motion.
Want to come home feeling grounded and nourished, not wrung out.
It’s especially for you if you’ve ever said things like:
“I don’t want a big tour. I just want to be in one place for a while.”
or
“I love Italy… but I don’t want to spend my whole trip on trains and in lines.”
What It Actually Feels Like
Imagine waking up in a village apartment, not a hotel lobby. You hear the church bells ringing and see quiet streets outside your window. Each morning, you walk the same little route to coffee and start to recognize familiar faces.
You visit a few nearby places – a vineyard, a hill town, a special lunch spot – but you’re not packing a suitcase every other day. There’s a comforting rhythm to the week:
Slow mornings.
One main activity most days.
Built-in time to rest, read, wander, or simply do nothing.
Evenings filled with long dinners and engaging conversation.
You’re not performing your holiday. You’re living a simple, beautiful week.
The Kind of Person I Have in Mind
When I design this experience, I picture someone roughly 45–70 who is:
Tired of always being “on.”
Carrying a lot for other people (family, work, community).
Ready for a week where they’re held and gently guided instead of planning everything.
Open-hearted, curious, and kind.
You don’t need to be an “experienced traveler.” You don’t need to speak Italian. You just need to be willing to slow down and be present.
The Joy of Slowing Down
Slowing down can feel foreign in our fast-paced world. But it’s in those quiet moments that we truly connect with ourselves and our surroundings. Have you ever noticed how a leisurely stroll allows you to absorb the beauty around you? The vibrant colors of the flowers, the warm sun on your skin, and the laughter of locals enjoying their day.
This week in Tuscany is about embracing those moments. It’s about stepping away from the hustle and bustle and finding joy in simplicity.
If You’re Still Reading…
If you’ve read this far and you feel a little “yes” somewhere in your body, that matters. You don’t have to decide anything now.
The first step is simply to raise your hand quietly and say, “Yes, this kind of week in Tuscany is something I might want in my life in 2027.”
I’ve created a small June 19–26, 2027 interest list for exactly that.
If you add your name, you’ll be the first to:
See the full details and pricing when they’re ready.
Get early access to booking.
Have the best chance at one of the 8 spots.
You can join the interest list here: [*June 2027 interest page]*
No commitment. Just a way for us to stay in touch as this village week comes to life, and for you to see if the idea still feels right as time goes on.
Maybe, two summers from now, you’ll be the one walking that same cobblestone street for your morning coffee… and feeling very glad you listened to that quiet yes.
Want to start living this now?
If you don’t want to wait until 2027 to feel this kind of pace, I’ve created a digital guide you can use to plan your own version of a slow village week:
Slow Week in Tuscany
A 7‑day village‑based itinerary & planning guide
Inside, you’ll get:
a complete 7‑day, one‑base itinerary in Tuscany
a simple daily rhythm: slow mornings, one main thing, unhurried evenings
“go slower” options for every day, so you can adapt to your energy
guidance on choosing your base, food & wine, transport, and packing
You can use it as a plug‑and‑play plan or as a flexible framework to adapt to your own dates and village.
If your nervous system is voting for “one base, slower days,” you can get the guide here
